sound problem in Mac projector

I have a number of projectors that we use on both Windows and Mac platforms. These are educational programs and they contain sounds. They use the DirectSound and Sound Control xtras. The projectors were developed using MX and both the Windows and Mac versions worked fine.

I've converted some of the projectors to Director 11. The Windows versions work fine and the sounds are played as usual. The Mac version runs properly except that no sounds are played. The projector runs very quickly without the delays that the sounds normally provide. It seems as though the sounds are simply missing from the Mac projectors.

I am developing on a Windows platform and taking the resulting app's to a Mac computer for testing. Is there some option I'm not aware of that will get this to work?

Thanks!

It sounds like an xtras issue, does the sound in the Mac version play OK in author mode? Did you create a new xtras folder using all new Director 11 xtras?

Also you can check to see if there are any PC xtras still hanging around in the modify:movie:xtras menu.

I don't have Director 11 for Mac so I can't check that but I agree that it sounds like an xtras issue. What sound xtras are you using for Director 11 projects for Mac?

For future reference, I solved the problem. I removed the DirectSound and Sound Control xtras and added the Speech.x32 Director 11 xtra.
